Taquería Wawa (Portfolio piece)

Taquería Wawa is a concept website for a taco restaurant in Warsaw, designed and built on my own WordPress theme: name, logo, colours, photography, menu and copy, tested on phone, tablet and desktop until every link and button behaved the same way.

Brief: design and build a complete website for a Warsaw taco restaurant, from brand to code, on my own custom WordPress theme. Name: “Wawa” is Warsaw’s nickname, so “Taquería Wawa” says what and where in two words. Identity: a round badge logo, a Barragán-inspired palette instead of red-green-sombrero clichés, and Fraunces + Lora fonts with full Polish characters. Details: papel picado flags that fold away on scroll, scalloped section edges, sticker labels and round plate cut-outs. Menu: 36 dishes at Warsaw prices, three weekly deals, and all copy written for the brand. Built to be used: tap-to-call phone, map links, opening hours up top, search that ignores accents, and one consistent hover across the whole site. Quality: designed for the phone first, accessible, fast-loading, and checked with 200+ automated tests across 6 pages and 3 screen sizes. Takeaway: a restaurant site lives or dies on small details. Every link, button and price behaves the same on every page and every screen, so it feels like one place, not a collection of pages.
